Fashion time machine.

My friends and I have been working on a project for school about the culture of the 50's, so I've been doing a lot of research on fashion, beauty and Hollywood & pin-up icons. I love looking at all the old photos, I have a whole folder of ones I've saved but these are some of my favorites.

Damn Yankees is one of my favorite musicals - I've seen it off Broadway a couple times and I di it with my theater group - the costumes were so fun! I've heard that Jim Carrey and Jake Gyllenhaal are set to star in a new movie remake of it, so I'm really excited for that.

    Love this. There's such an interesting contrast between Bettie Page and Grace Kelly too.
    I love Damn Yankees--whenever I want to get my way and it's clear I am not going to, my mother sings "whatever Lola wants, Lola gets" to me. :) I didn't know they were doing a remake.

    Oh this reminds me of a book I'm currently reading, well, not reading but watching actually. It's a book about 1920's fashion - full of drawings of beautiful clothes and designs. I'm probably doing a post about it somewhere next week, maybe it can come in useful for your school project? The 20's and 50's are quite different of course, but you never know I guess! :D
