I've always been in love with Andrew Wyeth's painting Christina's World. I find it really interesting how people can get two different feelings from it - I've always thought it looked serene and nice but many think it's bleak and brings on feelings of terror.

I found this photo in a pool on Flickr of Andrew Wyeth-esque photographs; I think it's great how it captures the essence of the painting but with a different, sunnier mood (from Flickr user lori_an).

that painting and photo are just lovely. I love the concept of lying in a field in the summer with the sun beating down.

I've always felt conflicted about that painting. I've never considered it terrifying or serene...it sort of makes me feel lonely, instead.
ReplyDeletethanks so much for the help!! i really appreciate it.
This is my first time viewing that painting and I can understand both sets of feelings. The photograph, however, has me craving summer! :)
